WaterSky & Frio Suite / Jeff Johnson & Phil Keaggy

I'm now listening to a "new" (it's actually been 'out' for about a year- I just am now getting it)  CD album.. "WaterSky" by guitarist Phil Keaggy and pianist Jeff Johnson. These albums came about by a trip that both of these composers took to a Christian retreat center in Texas called Laity Lodge, overlooking the Frio River. This is actually Volume II of their collaboration. About two years ago, they released "Frio Suite" which was a marvelous collection of instrumental guitar/piano duets that were inspired by this marvelous river and God's natural creation that abounds there. They were so inspired by their surroundings that it caused them to create this music, which I am enjoying right now!
You can enjoy a video introduction to this album- just go to my guitar blog:  http://guitarheel1.blogspot.com  & click on Guitar Googles.  You will love this amazing 4-minute video!

Go Hear Her Music @ http://www.murielanderson.com/music/listen

Muriel Anderson is what I consider a world-class guitarist.  She has toured extensively, recorded many albums, and is the hostess for the annual Nashville event "THE ALL STAR GUITAR NIGHT".  I have listened to her on CD and via YouTube, but have never had the privilege of hearing her "Live In Concert".

I accompanied a group of friends and guitar students to this concert with Muriel Anderson.  Have you ever anticipated an event, and had a certain expectation for it, but however whenever the event actually happened, it was way different and totally beyond any expectation that you might have had about it.  Well-- this was such a concert.  I knew that she was an accomplished and talented guitarist.  But I had no idea what I was in store for in hearing this amazing musician.  Her fingers glided across the strings, she was able to make them do and sound just exactly the way in which she wanted them to sound.  We were all mesmerized and translated into a another state of consciousness with her music.  I was an admirer of her music before.  Now I am definitely a fan of her and her music.  Can you tell that we loved her ?  I want to go hear her again.. and again.. and again..  Thank you Muriel for a lovely and enchanting night or wonderful guitar music.
